Exam Details
iMAO OS will be organized in two levels. First level (Level-Q) will be online and offline at selected centers and will be the qualifying exam for Advanced Level A. You must score 85% or above in Qualifying Level to qualify for the Advanced Level.
Level Q Exam will be organized in two phases. A participant can appear in any one of the two phases only as per his/her convenience.
Live Portal
To help you prepare for the exam, within 48 hours of registration, you will be sent the login credentials to online portal of iMaven Astronomy, where you will be having access to online library of selected astronomy books, simulations, and videos.
Access to Live Portal will be provided free of cost to the participants of olympiad for the duration of olympiad. You may also participate in discussion forums of the olympiad.

FAQs
Who is eligible to participate in the iMAO Open Scholars category?
Undergraduate/ graduate/ post graduate students from any recognized university or college are eligible to participate in iMAO-OS. Please note that research students must participate in Open Masters category.
I am a dropper, not registered in any UG course. Can I participate? If yes, in which category ?
Droppers can participate. If you passed class 12th in 2024, you may participate in iMAO-Senior category or Open Scholars category.
If you passed class 12th in 2023 or before, you can participate in Open Scholars only.
Is there a registration fee?
Yes. There is a nominal fee to participate in the olympiad. For 2024, participation fee in Open Scholars Category is INR 500.
Access to live portal and relevant astronomy resources is free for registrants.
How do I register for the iMAO Open Scholars category?
Please visit registration page. You will be asked to fill a few details. Pay the registration fee online and your registration will be confirmed within 48 hours.
What will be the mode of Olympiad exam?
Exam will be organized online as a proctored exam on our dedicated exam portal using Safe Exam Browser.
